I was at my dealer last week to find out about the upgrade kit I ordered from ac.When I ordered it he said it would have to be back ordered but that was over a month ago so I thought maybe he had learned when it might be here but he still has no idea. I am getting nervous that it will not be here yet when the snow starts falling and my plow will not be ready. Anyone have any info on these kits and where or when I will be able to get one. I am soon just going to forget about it and mount my winch with the standard equipment it came with.Thanks for any help or advice.

 

My dealer stripped the upgrade parts off of a new 2500 he had, and sold them to me. I guess the demand for the upgrade kit was higher than AC expected. Maybe your dealer will do the same for you. It's a real cinch to install, so if I were you, I'd go ahead and install the original hardware and upgrade when your parts come in. You don't need the extra strength to operate your plow.

The winch upgrade kit is to modify a warn 2000 winch to equal a 2500 winch. It includes the new style rocker switch that mounts to the handlebar which is the feature I am most interested in. There are also some electrical components which are used to achieve the increase in power.
