Well, my 02 500 was involved in the recall for the welds on the upper a-arm mounts. I got my letter yesterday from Arctic Cat telling me take it back to the dealer for a FREE REPLACEMENT. It was too late my dealer had allready called AC and found out that mine was involved. So I had taken in on Monday for him to change my winch, tires, spacers and light over to the new one. I picked it up last night after work, brand new just like my old one green man. ACT. I had 700 miles on the other one I got it 7/20/01, no problems just getting broke in.
I sure would like to know what they are going to do with all of those recalled green 500s 551 total. I would think that some of them had not been sold yet. My dealer didn't even have one he had to get mine from a different dealer. Because he hadn't recieved any green ones when I bought mine. So he wouldn't even be affected if he wouldn't have gotten it from the other dealer.
I must say that I am impressed that AC is replacing the whole quad though. A lot of other companies would just replace the frame or reweld the old one. I am very happy with my ACs that I have had and with the service that I have recieved from my dealer and now the factory

Do you know what vin #'s were on that recall?

 

It is green 500 man vin between 4UF02ATV12T206459 trough 4UF02ATV42T207010 for a total of 551 units. If you are affected you should get a letter from AC. The last 6 #s is the serial #.
