I am still waiting for the Warn winch up-grade or the handel bar mounted switch(for a 2000# warn) from AC. Has anyone else got this up-grade yet from AC? I was told late last summer that it would be out in the fall of this year.
I am still not sure if this up-grade is just the switch and relay or a 2000# to a 2500# up-grade kit.
The AC dealer has no idea if or when they may arrive.

Are you talking about an upgrade or the recall?

There was a recall this past summer issued by Warn that called for the replacement of the solenoid swicth [relay] on SOME units but I haven't heard of any recall on the handlebar switch. Warn upgraded the handlebar switch about a year ago.

The up-grade kit that bumps the capacity to a A2500 is just an option, not mandatory.

As far as the only recall goes.[solenoid]. You had better tell your dealer to get on the phone with warn because these things were shipped out 6 months ago!!!! Honda,Yamaha,Suzuki,Kawasaki,etc.,etc., AND Artic Cat have all received their "new" solenoids.

The recall was implemented because their old style solenoid had caused a few isolated incidents that started fires!

Somebody on the ATVNation forum had installed one and was very impressed with the kit. The especially liked the way the rocker switch fits the handle bars. As far as the recall goes on the solenoids it only effects the solenoids made by White Rodgers. You should be able to get the name off of yours to check. I am not exactly sure what comes with the 2500 LB winch upgrade kit other than the rocker switch, although given that the new rating is 2500 LBS I would assume that there may be some wiring changes along with the new solenoid.

Cheers Jim

I just picked up my winch upgrade kit today. It includes everything to convert the 2000lb. to a 2500lb. and also the rocker switch for the handlebar. There is a new solenoid, new heavier cables, wiring harness connections, and misc. other small parts. Hope to have time to install it this weekend, looks like a pretty complete kit except it only included one cable tie, definitely I need to pick up more of those. Well I hope that helps answer your question, oh by the way, I ordered it around the beginning of September.
