When do you think Arctic Cat or should I say Suzuki will come out with there big bore quad? That being a 650cc or or 700cc engine. I'd really love to see one put into the new I models. That thing would be one mean machine. Now I'm not saying the 500 isn't a good one,but I think it's about time they got in line with the rest of quad makers............what do you think?

I think it will happen, but when who knows. I just hope they keep a manual tranny as a option as well as the auto for the ones who want that too. Arctic Cat is a very well built machine, they are a little slow to come around to new ideas though. Some of the early machines may have had some bugs but they are getting much better. But to be honest I don't need a bigger quad for any other reason than to be even or ahead of my buddies. I remember when a 250 & 300 was a big bore atv. But if they had one I would probably get one in a few years.

Why do you need more than a 500cc machine? we have hauled elk and four hunters out on my dads sportsman 500's Thats near 1700 pounds on the machine. I have seen people tow their 4X4's with their quads. bigger isn't always better. Soon the small drive shafts are going to snap because of the torque. I have seen the sportsman 700cc and basically what you get is a 500cc machine plus 45lbs of additional weight. Essentially the power to weight ratio is the same.
I guess I feel 500cc is more than anyone would ever need in a quad. If you need more power than buy a bigger vehicle. But I am sure because of people that think bigger is better. Arctic Cat is more than willing to take your money and will provide you with the biggest machine. They seem to have some 4-stroke snowmobiles and maybe one of those motors will make it the the ATV's.

I don't think that the 4 stroke from the sleds will make it in a quad- its a tad too big. I think a 660cc 3 cyl would be a bit overkill. I think a v-twin would be the way to go- then you could put dual straightpipes on it and it would sound like a harley We are going to be renting a few 4 stroke machines at work this year which will be interesting to see how well they work. The downsides to them are that you can't roll them on their sides to do slides and carbides because you would cause a little bit of a hydro lock problem with oil. Also some of the parts are way overpriced like the alternator on it- I believe it was around $1,400 plus labor! No, $1400 is not a typo. But I seriously doubt we will be replacing many of those since in a typical car they usually last at least 60,000 miles. The sled itself would be well worn out by that point.
