Like I said before a 500 is more than enough power for me. Personally I liked to see manufactures go to a 500 twin or 400 twin. Something in between a 500 single and a 650 v-twin. My little 250 4x4 can go almost everywhere a big bore can go due to it's 3 range tranny. Give me a well-engineered bike (good gearing, power, suspension and a 4x4-system w/ diff lock). Enjoy what you ride...

well no matter how stuck i am i seem to always be able to smoke the belt except one or two times ive had it stuck and the tires wouldnt spin but the primary clutch engaged grabbed the belt and wouldnt smoke it it just sat there and bogged down found out a little later i had shrunk my belt from going back and forth from water to heat to water to heat it was engaged all the time it was way tight like a bike chain so that time it actually was out of torque its all good though a belt every couple hundred miles is just maintence i guess

So do the larger quads have a better belt drive to take advantage of the power? If they are the same as the 500's and such, how is the bigger motor going to help? I mean, if a 500 has more than enough power to burn the belts off in the mud, and they do, how is the 650's and 700's any better?

well i guess what i dont understand is why people wanna tell others what they should ride is it that you dont want someone to have a bigger wheeler then you or what i dont understand the need to tell me and others my 500 is big enough if i want one and many others want one there must be a need or desire for them anyways i guess what im saying is we live in the land of freedom and i have the freedom to want more power GIVE ME BIG BORE OR GIVE ME DEATH Anyways you ride what you want ill ride what i want we tell the manufacturers what we want by how we spend and theres good reason they are all going to 650 and up cause they know theyll sell

I will say that I would probably get a big bore if they came out with it. I really don't know why, I can't remember not having enough power with a 500cc quad. I ride in the mud alot, climb hills and run 27" tires for all of this.
I have one must have with it though. It must be a manual shift, at least not a belt drive. This is just personal preference, not meaning anything bad about anybody's quad. I've deen there twice and I want gears.

Hey filthy, I'm not pickin on ya, and I agree with you 100%. Get the quad you want and enjoy. I was only trying to ask some questions of a 500 owner, see my quad is just a 350 and it sucks in the power department. I would like to get a bigger ride sometime soon, and trying to use some other peoples real life adventures to help me decide. But like you mentioned, it is my final decision and I will get what I want (or what my wife will let me). Sorry if I rubed ya wrong!

Should be around June or July I think. That's around when 2002s were introduced (up here in Canada anyway).
