AC 250 or 300... Or Both?
#11
Corn Dog, (excuse my ignorance), but does the weight of the machine negatively affect steering, manuverability, handling, etc? Considering this AC 250 2X4 will be for my wife, I'd like to make sure she's not going to have to take steroids to make a turn... If you wouldn't mind, could you give me an example of how the weight impacts performance?
Thanks!
P.S., Would a larger engine (300) make handling easier?

Corndog,
Where have you been hiding? Haven't seen many posts from you lately. You find a new machine yet? A while back it sounded like you going to buy a Honda or something a little racier. Hope things are working all right with the 250 (after the mud).

The 250 turns very easy. My son is 10 and has no problem turning it at all. My 6 year old daughter can even turn it, just can't reach the shifter. I've got a broken arm right now and when my daughter gets home from kindergarden, she takes my for rides. She steers and works the gas and I shift and help with the brakes. The extra weight is just more for the 250cc motor to lug around.

I think most of the quads are much easier to steer than the older ones.
My 13 and 11 year old daughters both drive my 400i. I do not notice much difference in steering effort between 2wd and 4wd, but they both say it is easier in 2wd. The only complaint so far is that they have trouble upshifting with the heel toe shifter. So do I matter of fact, and I may change to just the toe shift lever soon.
