Sturgeonjim,
Greetings from "Speedy Creek".
I don't know your dealer, but I had good luck at the following dealer.
I have no financial interest etc in his business. He gave me a good deal.
Kind of a long way from you, but then just about everything is. (vbg)
In your situation, I personally would rather utilize a manual rather than a belt drive. Just my opinion

Go buy the AC500, you won't regret it! Cats are just starting to catch on around here and I hear nothing but go things. My little 250 hasn't let me down (even when riding with SP500's and a couple of 450s). I truly believe the Cats are built better and are geared towards "real" technical trail riding. Honda’s suffer from a lack of ground clearance, limited rear suspension, and weak front diffs. After several long trail rides with many different brands I’ve grown to appreciate both Cat and Polaris (the new Griz is nice too). Just my 2 cents... Take it or leave it.

Jim,
The price of the AC 500 doesn't sound all that bad...especially if it is a Warn 2500lb winch. (2002 400 4x4 manual was $6800 Can) I think Arctic Cats are proving to be just as reliable as any Honda and are sure built strong.
From what I have read, I think the Arctic Cat autos are just as good as any other belt drive auto, if an auto is what you gotta have!

Sounds good to me too. If you are going to be doing any deep 18"+ I would recomend the manual or an 02 auto. The vent system on the 01 and00 autos was too low. It isn't a problem unless you go through really deep water and mud. They have changed this on the 02s though. If you won't be going this deep don't worry about it.
