New tires for 375
#11
Since we are talking about Dirt Devils, i have a 2001 AC 500 and was wondering if i would notice ANY power loss with 27x10-12 DD's, top end or low end. I really like my cat being "pepi". I want to keep being able to turn sharp corners in 3rd gear and "rapid-shift" to 5th.
If they do rob a little power i can always go with 26 inchers. I plan on installing a lift so i should have enough ground clearance with either tire. By the way i have 27 and 28" DD's on my Quest and they are an auwsome tire! Thanks for any help!

The 27 inchers I have on my 375 I barely notice any low end power loss. So on your 500 you would be less apt to notice any change. You won't need a lift for the tires because there is more than enough room for them. As far as being able to do any of those fancy corners, the DD's grab a whole lot more than the stockers so it will take a little more effort on your part (weight distrabution/leaning) to get it to do it. hope that helps some.

The 2001 models have less clearance than the 2002 models, so I would recomend a lift kit for your 2001 model. As for sizes, you sound like you might want to stick with the 26 inchers since you are obviously a very sporty type rider.

Boner, the 26 inchers were originally what i was going with, but i read somewhere on here that the 26" Dirt Devils only measure around 24" with 5lbs of air! Does this sound right to you? I don't want to go any smaller than my stockers!
