400i Mods for deep water

If you have an auto, you might want to fashion some extended snorkles for the transmission vent tubes. Here is a picture of my brother on his 375 over the tires in a mud puddle. He was stuck. Took us a half hour to winch him out. But the machine never quit running the entire time and no water got into the tranny from this.

Recently, however, he took it though a shallow puddle at high speeds...a lot of times...I mean REALLY a lot...and managed to splash enough water into the tranny snorkles to damage the belt and seals. This "lesson" cost him $360 at the dealer. If he would have slowed down, he would have been fine. Heck, if the water was clear he'd be fine, but it was muddy water.
