I no longer get the extended warranty, I had it on my first and the 250 but have yet to use it on the 250. I have had excellent service from my dealer with the extended warranty on the first Cat I had nad didn't even buy it there. I think it is a personal preference if you want it or not. Some get it and some don't. Most never use it but if you do it can pay for its self pretty fast. I have a service manual if I have any problems, I believe I can fix most.

My dealer lets people take test drives. When we go riding people can even ride them on the trail rather than the parking lot.

The most important thing to consider is the dealer, there are some real losers out there that sell every make. Be sure you can get along with him, not just on the price. Maybe even talk to some of his customers, I know I've sent some customers to my dealer. You will be able to tell just by hanging out and talking to people.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide.
