You don't reline them you just make your own pads out of flat brass bar stock. Go to a shop that sells metal you can find it in your yellow pages, and get a 2' piece of 1/4 x 3 flat bar. Take your old pads and trace them onto the brass including the hole. Then cut them out with a band saw, jig saw or even hacksaw. You may have do a little finish grinding with an angel or bench grinder even a file. Drill your holes and mount them. They last longer than regular pads and don't mess up your rotors. You may even try 3/8" thick flat bar for a little thicker pad, but you may have to sand it down because I believe it will be a tight fit. They will squeek a little right before you come to a complete stop but no worse than what the stockers do. You should be able to get enough brass to make 4 or 5 pairs for the same price as 1 pair of stockers. Maybe even more if you get a good deal.

EBC pads are $21 a set at rockymountain atv.com. They even have new rotors available now. Three sets will do a quad=$63. Just a word of warning, you may have to lightly file/grind the sides a bit to get the hole to line up with the pin used on our cats calipers as I did. Be sure to lightly polish the pin with sime fine sandpaper to help keep things smooth. Brake squeel is another problem I've run into with EBC and Cat brakes but some blue brake compound from the parts store fixed it up. Best to do it while you have the brakes apart than to have to take it apart again later. No big deal but it will add a few extra minutes to the job. Factory pads drop right in. Good luck!

So the brass stock should be cut out to fit in where the brake pads go, not attached to the brake pad, I thought you were saying cut it out to replace the liner.

has anyone tryed this?

Yes me and several others have tried this with good results. You are correct in that the entire pad is replaced with a homemade brass one, not relined. There is a company that makes and sells them, they have a website but I can't remember what it was. Of course the didn't make them for AC.
