Back to the subject of your 300 Arctic Cat... I have one that was having the same problems and I thought it was the carburetor because an incompetent cat master left the breather pipe half way off the carburetor, which sucked in some muddy water while on a trail causing it not to start. After cleaning the carburetor three times, it still had the same problem. Come to find out the real problem was a intake valve that came out of adjustment and was so tight, it wouldn't close. The compression was 60 lbs. when it was supposed to be 120 lbs. A quick check to see if your valves are seating is to take a dollar bill and put it up to your exhaust pipe and if it pulls it up to the pipe, check your valves. Hope this helps your problem.
