I need a speedometer for a 2000 500A, does anyone know where the best price is? Dealer wants $120 or so, I thought I saw where someone on here got one for about 60 bucks. I can't find it on brownsleisure.com. I searched on here for gauge and speedometer and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks in advance. Rob

I suggest going to a bicycle shop and getting an electronic one.
They're way cheaper, they'll give you speed, max speed, avg speed, trip meter, odometer, clock, and other stuff.
You just have to JB Weld the magnet onto your rotor and rig up the sensor onto the backing plate.
You can even get wireless ones, so that you won't even have to run a wire!
And, of course they're programable for different size tires, so it will remain acurate if you switch from stock to big tires, or vise-versa.
The display usually is not really big, but as they hold max speed and avg speed you can live with that.
They're available for anywhere from $20-60 Canadian, and in a wide rage of quality, from cheap and junky, to almost indstructable.

I had to replace my Speedometer, from turning the quad over. It cost $97.00 U.S. from the dealer about two months ago. bad part is that the broke one only had 80 miles on it! good luck!

The best place to mount it is on the brake caliper and the rim. The magnet is mounted on the rim and the sensing unit is mounted on the brake caliper. Just make sure that the speedometer can be calibrated for that small of a rim. Remember bicycle rims are bigger in diameter.

For a good place to get one is walmart. They have a nice one for $29. They also have a smaller one for $19.

How well would it hold up in ATV conditions?
