What if Artic Cat??

The weight of AC's utility quads is a testimony to how seriously they took the market. These are quite possibly the toughest ATV's on the market (no flame wars please, that's just an opinion).
My guess is that if AC applied the same seriousness to the sport market, they would produce a lean and fast machine. Quite likely, it would bear little to no similarities to the utility market at all.
My hunch, however, is that their first sport ATV will most likely be a Z400 clone, since they use Suzuki motors.
I'd be happy if they just kept clear of producing the "quasi" sport atv's that another Minnesota manufacturer turns out.

Someone on another forum said that Cat will have a sport model soon (don't know where they got the info). Who knows maybe they could take the Z400 and add 4wd (somehow) to create a Scrambler killer. A manual clutch 5-speed, sport 4x4 with super long suspension it would be one bad kitty!

I think if AC went into the sport atv market they wouldnt take it lightly. They would probably raise the bar on sport atvs. Look at there snowmobiles AC is always the snowmobile manufacture that usually pushes the envolope when it comes to performance snowmobiles. Just look at AC's new firecats. How does a batteryless EFI, 430 dry lb, wrapped up with a 700cc engine that pumps out 140hp. When they do arrive in the sport market I expect them to do something to revolutionize the industry.
