I have a 2001 Pol 325 Mag and was thinking of gettig a 2003 AC a 400i but I am not sure if I should go for the 500i?? the dealer said for 2003 they will have a 400i auto..how much more power would a 400i have then my 325 mag??? We have a farm an alot of cattle and sometimes need to chase them back into there feilds and I find the 325 is lagging in a little (get up & go) would tho 400i have that and if so would the 500i have a lot more??/ thanks

The 400 and 500 take off is not that big of a differance the 500 does have some more power for pulling. The top speeds of the 4 and 500 are the same. Ihope my info helps

The difference really comes throught when your playing around and trail riding, you can stay in a higher gear and lug the motor all the time while in the 400i you can't do this. My friends with their 400i's can really see the power differece with my 500i. They want the 500i now. If you get the 400i don't ride with 500i's because you will want to trade up.

I can't speak for the 400, but the 500i manual has a nice wide range of torque. Feels sort of like a Harley - not much on the high end, but plenty of power in the low to midrange rpm's. If you ever have to pull anything heavy on the farm - I do - that comes in handy. I've herded cattle on a dirt bike, and if the 500i won't catch up to it, you probably have a Derby contender. The 400/500i cats can move very quickly over rough ground, due to the IRS, high ground clearance, and long suspension travel, which should also help. Most of the cattle I herded in my youth didn't have the courtesy to stay on well defined trails...
