I have the 500i manual. I have now on a couple of occasions powered out the quad in a mud hole. Climbing out of a mud hole took all the throttle and I had to use low to come out. Has anyone else have this problem??? Thanks

How many miles on the Cat? I have 788 on mine and it is running great. I just adjusted the valves for the first time about 80 miles ago. I rode with several other quads on Sat and never once had a powering out problem. The mud was thick and sticky. The more you run it the better it will run. I went to the ATV pulls a few weeks ago and my Cata 700 and my brother inlaws 650 prarie was the only ones that didn't power out. A buddy with a Rubi and 25" 589s powered out about 35' behind me. We all were spinning at the end of our pull, the 700, 650 and my Cat any way. With all quads weighing in at 1050lbs. Oh by the way the Cat went the farthest of all except for a 2wd Polaris 300. He did this all the time and was highly modified, so it didn't bother me any. He only beat me by a few feet. I now have the bragging rights in our group!

Yea, the same thing happend to me on my first ride, then it happened again this past weekend. It now has 160 miles on the bike. I was asking myself why the lack of power, I then check my throttle cable and found it had to much slack. I then ajusted it to 1/4 inch play and now I have all kinds of power...The more miles I put this bike the better it seems to ride and my gas mileage has improved.

I've had this kind of problem several times, with my big tires. With stock tires you shouldn't power out.

The 500I isn't exactly a high HP quad, spectacularly spinning tires aren't going to happen, that takes POWER, not just torque.
