I am starting to wonder why my 500i won't start up on the first push of the button.
When the engine is cold i can understand why it doesn't, but on my last ride even when the engine was very warm the bike would take a few tries to get it started. I have had experience with honda bikes and they always seem to start instantly. Do hondas and ACs have a different kind of starter or something? is there something that can be done to get the bike to start better or is it normal?
thanks in advance.

NeWf, my 500i does the same thing when warm...It is somewhat irritating...Sometimes it takes me 3-4 tries to fire it up...I have learned that applying some throttle helps, just crank it right up with 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. This has been my solution, although I usually forget it until the 3rd-4th try...Dont use any choke, that has never worked for me..Crank it with the throttle cracked open, then let off upon starting..I really dont consider it a 'problem', just a characteristic that I deal with on occasion...It has nothing to do with the starter, but more likely the fuel mixture or carburation..:-)
