The larger Cat's come with a tool box however you can get a tool box from AC for the 300 list price $29.95.
Prices around here for a 300 4x4 I think is around $4,895.I did not price the 400 4x4.My 500 auto was 5995

now I am confused on what to purchase. How do you like your 400 4x4 as the prices in Alberta are simular and hearing about the lack of power in the 300 4x4. If anyone out there can compare the 400 ct verus the Kodiak ultramatic 4x4 I would apreciate it.

I have a 99 AC 400 4x4, a buddy of mine has a y2k kodiak. I just assumed that his kodiak would be alot faster than mine because it was an auto, and a bit lighter, but I was surprised to see that they are just about identical in speed when racing each other. He also has 27" tires. As far as power goes I would say that they are pretty darn close. I like my suspension better because it is a little smoother and the independant rear allows it to be a little more stable on sidehills. I find that my front differential is a little bit more positive than his, allowing me to grip drive out of deep ruts a little easier. His machine is definately more sporty in two wheel drive, it handles alot better and is alot easier to steer than mine, he can also pull wheelies, which is just about impossible on mine. I also like the side shifter on his machine with the park feature it works well. One thing I was surprised on was that my machine is quite a bit better on gas than his, I think this is beacause his machine is always reving quite a bit higher than bine, due to the clutches. They are both nice machines and have both been trouble free so far.

I agree with xplorer. I also have an AC300 4X4 and the xplorer 250. The Cat is very stable on hills and the independent rear is fantastic on rough and rocky terrian. I like both machines, but I think the Cat is better, except for climbs where you have to get way off the throttle for roots, rocks, etc and then get back on it. The Cat is sluggish when trying to get back into it, but the xplorer will come back strong when you hit the throttle. I think these 2 machines are good and probably any other machine you decide on. Good luck.
