Default Need Non-Mud Tire

This is for the tire Guru's out there. What is the best non-mud trail tire for my 500 auto?

I'm leaning towards the Titan 489. I'd like to go to a 11" on the back if possible. I don't want to go a a 26" to cut down on weight, having to buy 4 tires, and save the little Umph I've got. I don't want the aggressive 589 either. I ride rutty hilly trails, avoid mud, and don't want to roll sideways down the hill. Should I wait for a Titan 489 radial?

Give me your opinions. Also, did I mention I'm frugal (cheap). Where can I get the best deal?

I would recomend the Holeshot ATR. I have heard nothing but good things about this tire.

Mudcat, who makes the Holeshot ATR ? Is this from ITP? Where did you get your tires? There is a clutch kit out from Highlifter for the Arctic Cat 500 which really helps off the line with serious mudders (27").

I would check east Ky motorsports, or Rocky Mountain ATV they both seem to have some good tire prices. ITP makes the ATR. I have heard of the clutch kits for ths autos, but I don't really need anything like that on the KFX. I just dump the cluth and gas it LOL. I have just recently started riding the sport quads again. I got tired and bored just sitting on the 4x4s. I thought I needed a challenge.

For best non-mud tire, I'd say either that Holeshot ATR, the Dirt Devil, or the Blackwater XT. I run the latter on my 400i and I love 'em. If the Holeshot ATRs will come out in a 27" size, I will try them... I just like bigger tires than 25".

For a non mud tire I would pick between the New ITP Holeshot ATR's or the Maxxis All-Tracks. A lot of GNCC 4X4 racers run the all tracks because of their versatility. The GBC Dirt Devils are a great tire too but I consider them to be a mud tire. If you want a tread pattern like the 489's then I would go for the GBC Dirt Devils over the 489's

Don't forget about Kenda Bearclaws. They work great in almost all types of terrain. Even if you end up in some mud theyy will get you through - although not as well as a serious mud tire.
