AC250
#1
I am looking at the AC 250 as a second machine. I like the suspension, ergonomics and the overall looks.
I'm a little concerned about the rearward placed engine and the heavy weight for the small motor. Does anyone have any comments that may make my decision easier?
I'm also looking at the Polaris 250 & 325 as well as the Yamaha 230 (BearTracker?).

Hi loyoal,
I have an ArctiCat 300 with 600 miles on it and ive climbed pretty steep hills with no problem about it tipping over, i have flipped it twice but it wasn't the machines fault. My ArcticCats engine is placed in the bgack just like yours and i dont belive that causes any problem.
hope this helps

I'm also am looking at the 250 2x4. The price seems pretty resonible for machine. I like the large size of the machine, the floorboards, disk brakes and the independant rear end. Plus it feels comfortable to sit on. But I was concerned about the cv joint boots. I do alot of woods riding, pushing over small (1" dia. or less) trees and thru some light brush. Will I have problems tearing the boots. As of now that's the only stopping me from buying it.

My bro. in law has a 300 4x4 he loves it and, I do as well. In my opinion it is the top 300 in its class. Now back to the post... Arctic Cat has a rear boot guard protector that we put on the Bro. in Law's quad that is cheap and covers the front bottom and rear of the boot. You can get them at the dealer. They are specifically for the rear of the 250/300 AC's. Good investment for about 40 bucks.
