Does the manual shift have the same locking differential that the Auto has?

I may be wrong but, after reading Atv Connections evaluation of the Auto Cat it is my understanding that neither have a true locking differential, just an better version of the limited slip differential.

When I went to the dealership to check out the ACs,the dealer informed me that the front diff on any of the AC 4x4s did'nt lock.Since im a stickler on having ALL 4 wheels providing power,that shut down the deal.BILL

 

Here is a few of the comments on the 500 auto review that they did. "The improved design offers a surprising amount of pulling power and a front differential-locking axle." and another, "Another advantage of the 500 4x4 Automatic is its exclusive front-wheel drive differential that is new for 2000. When engaged, it transfers power to both wheels like the 400 and 500 4x4 systems." I asked the mechanic at where I bought mine and he said that they have the same front differential. So I guess it does.
