Default How to fix a flat tire?

I got a nail in my front Titan 489 (#?) tire. When I pull the nail out I can hear air escaping.

Do I use a "radial tire" repair kit (with the hole reamer, and the sticky strips to be pushed in the hole) for this puncture?

You need one that is specifically for low pressure quad tires....the automotive ones are too stiff and pull out with the tool damn near every time. (yes....I learned the hard way LOL)

Thanks Dave. So do you think a motorcycle shop would carry a "low pressure" repair kit?

Does anyone sell it on line?

I used the same plugs in my atv tires as my truck because basicly that is what I had. I have had them pull out while installing but practice and being careful cured that. These plugs lasted 2-3 years until I traded it in. I had at least a total of 6 in both front and rear. These are the like 6 inch rope looking ones. Also used the rubber ones. I have never tried slime.

The key is twisting the plug inside the whole to knot it up, grab it at the base after insertion and give her a twist and a yank. It should stay in - and use the glue, it helps to lube things up.

(kinda sounds naughty!! )

Cleck out my tire in my pictures, it has 18 plugs in it. (10 happened that one day, I changed the tire once I got home but had no [problem riding the rest of the day)
