Default Is this BS or what?

I am in the market for a new atv and looking at the Artic Cat 500 auto. The dealer I talked to said that I would need to bring it in after the first 100 miles for a checkup......mainly check the valves. Of course he also told me that would cost $100. Is this true or just another way to rip off the buyer?

The tune up is true. It should be taken back to the dealer. How ever some dealers include the first adjustment in the purchase price. Mine only charged me for the oil change. If you know how to check the valve adjustment you can do it yourself. If not bargin with him on the price have him include the oil change for that price since the AC filter is $15. Good luck

Hi, It's about 200 miles for your first checkup. Yes they do have to check the valves and do an oil & filter change. Clean and add oil to your air filter and adjust the carb.... A $100.00 us is cheep for I paid $260.00 canadian (about $170.00 us). So I bought a shop manual for $75.00 canadian. Now I do all my own servicing.
