Default Make a 2x4 a 4x4?

Has anyone ever looked into making there Acat 2x4 into a 4x4? I have a 2000 250 2x4, and it doesn't look like it would be all that hard. There is a plug in the front of the engine/transmission where the 4x4 drive shaft would come out of, and the rest would all be bolt on drive line stuff?

Helpful info would be appreciated.

Sad but true, you'd be replacing the front suspension, wheels, adding a diff and driveshaft, probably adding some gears in the transmission, and a pilot shaft on the front of the transmission, and that's assuming the frame wouldn't need to be replaced, and it probably would. For what all that would cost you in parts alone, you could probably trade your 2x4 in on a new 4x4, and have change left over.
