In the N.E. it has been pretty cold ,like 10 degrees, and snowy. I have been loving the quad in the snow. However last night, in 8" of powder snow, I was riding and I stopped and looked down at the exhaust pipe comming from the engine and it was glowing red. Is this pretty normal or am I just too hard on the machine. Also I noticed after riding for a while, and then I stop, the engine stalls. I start it up, the engine wont keep it's idle I have to keep my finger on the throttle.

Any suggestions here. I purchased the quad in Sept. 02. it only has 120 mikes on it.

The red hot pipe seems to be normal, do a search as this was discussed a couple of weeks ago. I have the same idle problem after plowing snow for awhile. I was thinking snow plugged up the air intake or breathers but I'm not sure.

 

BYBOB & BIGHOLE I too have this delema i believe that bighole is on the right track with regard to possibly vent blockage . minus 10 farenheit doesn't compare to minus 30 celsius. clear all air and even gas tank vent. that did for me . A 1 now MONK-BOY
