For all of those who have the 500 or one that is lquid cooled.then you know with a factory winch it is hard to get to your radiator screen to clean it out while your on the trail. I once found a post where someone built a custom screen to better aid the raditor from getting packed with san and mud, but i cannot find it.
I had a minor problem with my bike getting a little warm according to the Temp light.

my question

Does anyone have a Mod they did to help keep the radiator clean.

i was thinking of utting somesort of screen on it that can be easily pulled out,cleaned off and put back in.

Any suggestion would be great

 

Dont know of any mods, but id like to hear of one as well. I know what you mean by close. This is after the accident, but its only pushed an inch.

I agree it is a pain in the a$$ to clean up the radiator!!! I thought I saw a mod somewhere awhile back myself.

Pulling my winch has been a ritual that I could do with out. I know Warn makes a quick disconnect for the winches, but I bet one could be fabricated fairly easy. That is if anyone can find the time!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

The screen on top of the radiator is removable. It just has 4 wingnuts on it. I cleaned mine the other day. I haven't had any trouble with overheating yet, even when the radiator is clogged. I'm running the engine ice stuff right now. I can't tell much difference. You could try a manual fan switch???
