Did this once before, might as well do it again. How about everyone that owns an Arctic Cat ATV tell us what you've got, and how you like it.

I've got a 1999 500 4x4. Absolutely love it.
The rocker shifter is a nifty idea that becomes second nature the day after you get it. I've got about 850 miles so far with only a burnt out 4rth gear indicator light that I replaced for about a dollar at O'reilly's.

Accessories include Warn A2000 winch, oxlite boot guards(damn worth the $$$), and a cushioned Mossy Oak rack bag from ATVstuff.com.

Hello Andy

I have a 2000 AC 500 with the wonderful rocker shifter, I like it also. Accessories that I have on mine are 2000lb. winch and snowplow. I have about 45 miles on it and still breaking it in but I love it and it climbs anything. I posted a thread about that new differential to see if the manual shift had it, I guess the auto has it. If you look back on my thread I posted a few quotes from the 500 auto review tell me what you think.

I have a 99 Arctic Cat 500. I love it. Before I bought my Arctic Cat I was going to get a Honda 450s. After riding one a few days ago I'm glade I got my cat. As for the shifter, I love it. Riding that 450 showed me how much more comfortable the Rocker shifter is. Compared to the 450s I was riding with, My 500 is alot better climber. I was riding wheelies up the ditch, in second gear, and it felt like it would never come over on me. the 450, on the other hand, couldn't climb it, it felt like it wanted to flip very easy. In the mud I could easily keep up with him, even though he had 27 inch MudBugs. Read "Want to here what you guy think" for more info on my rides with other people. I might go for a short ride tomorrow with the 450s.

'98 454. Love it.
Its been put through heck. rolled twice..
I would guess it has somewhere between 1600 and 2000 miles on it...my speedo got torn off on my first flip. The only malfunction (That i havnt caused) is the water pump seal went bad.

Atving, the ride quality is enough to have swayed me from the Quadmaster or Quadrunner 500. The other stuff is just extra incentive. I will say that AC should have adopted a 2wd/4wd lever like the Suzuki has. Got in my 4" rack extension today. It will work on either the front or rear, but I put it on the front so it doesn't interfere with my gun rack mount. I have the rack bag on the rear anyway so it evens out the looks. I might get another extension for the rear, but not for a while anyway. I'd rather put the money towards some big *** tires.

I just bought the AC 500 4X4. It has the winch deal and snow plow. I pick it up tomorrow. I can hardly contain myself.

My 2000 AC500 Manual Shift has really impressed me. I've been scouting/hunting for the past several month's and nothing has stopped it. I've only got about 60 miles on it and it's my first ATV. The only limits right now is my experience.

In 30+ years of hunting whitetail's I've never been able to do sooooooooo much scouting and setting up. I can now hunt places that were previously impractable. It's a real back saver.

Got a 200 lb. 8 point Buck last week and having it probably saved me from having a heart attack.

Lot's more hunting to do, bye!

OK, I don't ride an Arctic Cat, but I looked at one at the dealer yesterday. I was wondering why on the 500's they use such a narrow and hard seat. The seat feels like sitting on a rock and it is very narrow, especially for people with big rearends! Also, when I turned the key on, the overheat light and the fan turn on, is this normal?
