Default Carb problem?

Was out for a bit this evening and the bike just up and quit. Sometimes it just dies, like no fuel, or backfires a lot then dies. It eventually run again. Some times have to prime it??? Any opinions? The carb is right here on my desk. HEhhe

Hi, vewdew check your gas tank you have a screen type filter , it could be cloged. By the sounds of it , it starving for gas. Do you have a kink in the vent tube? Or is the needle or float stuck and won't let any gas in the carb. Well you got it off now you might as well clean it. And adjust your valves while the gas tank is off.

Default Carb problem?

I read alot of reviews before buying the Cat500i 03'. I read that the connector on the coil was faulty on a lot of wheelers. There is a cheap liitle plastic connector on the side of the coil that alot of people said they had trouble with. I siliconed and recrimped mine when I bought it. Might be worth a check.

Right side in front of engine.

I got the service manual out and it doesn't list one. It should be in the gas tank where the fuel hose comes from the tank going towards the Gas tank valve. I hope this helps. By the way it says here to change your gas/vent hose every two years, you could have a cloged hose.

When it quits you can stop and pull the plug or just grab the plug wire. You can tell real quick if its gas or spark problem. Kinda hurts though.
