Detroit locker for Cat's!
#12
i wrote highlifter and this is what they said
we tried but due to the way that AC put it together [front diff, ring gear, carrier] it would require so much machine work [to each one] and then the locker, it just is not feasible . We could sell a lot of them if it could be done at a reasonable price. Thanks for asking

Understandable from a business stand point but sucks for us. I wonder if its any easier to lock an older machine. There is a different diff in the older machines. Id consider it, it steers like a tank now, dont know if it can get any worse. Anyone want to elaborate on this for me. I cant get at the Browns site to show you the diff.

On the older diffs it is as easy as engaging the lever further down which locks the spiders in a constant posistion. Im not sure if you can put the old diff in the new cats. It would be up to the pinion gear and shaft. if that all matches i dont see why not, unless the older diffs couldnt hold up to the new power of the 03s

See there is no "lever" Its full time 4x4 on these models. I would love to take it out of 4x4 and have a lock...!!! Heres the front end...
