low range

I put my cat in low range to pull out my buddy that was in some mud and it would not go back in high range it just made a clicking sound, i had to trun it off befor it would go back in high range. is this ok, does this happen on cats a lot?

cat 500i you took the words right out of my mouth i do the same thing rocking it back and forth seems to disengauge the low and lets it slip into hi i dont think its to serious though its kind of like when your dirt bike slips into that secret nutral and it just clicks same thing
