Default gators vs. mudbugs

yes there is a differance mud bugs only come in sizes up 27" gators go up to 28" gatirs are more money also. when i got my gators i did alot of checking on the net and for me was the size differance i wanted the biggest tire i could get. but i have afreind with a 650 griz with mud bugs and he loves them he says mud bug are the best . and i have another freind with a 650 prerie and he says gators are the best. but i have bin looking at the mud lites and they have a1/4" more tred than the gators and are suppost to be lighter and cheaper thay say the mud lites are the best buy. but its all in what you like, me i love my gators and cant wait to go up against my bud with the mud bugs i think my cat will kill the grizly but thats just my opinion check out my pic and see what the gators look like there awsom. i went through at least a food of pure river mud yesterday wit no probs. gators are the best in my mind. you get what you pay for.

Your pics show that you have mudzillas?

Does anyone know which is the better tire btw the 2 and the difference in how they wear /ride for trail?
I am looking into getting the 26"10 12 and the 26 12 12. How does the weight compare with both also?

I have noticed in the size that the gators are cheaper but all i hear about is mudbugs which I am partial 2.

Default gators vs. mudbugs

hi drizzle
this post is over 2 years old.
i had a 2003 arctic cat 500 manual then.
and since then i got my honda and now my kawi.
i had the gators on my cat.
as for knowing the differance i do.
the gators will last longer then the bugs because there a harder compound tire.
i know at least 3 people that have the mudbugs and they are a great tire in all terranes mud snow hard or soft they work like they were made for whatever its on.
and the gators tend to spin more on the hard stuff but work just as good and better in all other terrane.
when i got my honda i put mudlites on it because every body was saying how great they were and they were on sale so i got them.
first time it snowed i was dissapointed with them i found they dig for traction and i was stuck in no time.
as for any other terrane the mud lites shine.
but they give you a rough ride when going slow.
and when i got my kawi the zillas were on it.
and in the mud snow or anything i have put them through they have impressed the heck out of me.
i think out of all the tires i have seen around here the zillas are #1.
i havent seen outlaws or super swampers or vamps around here so i cant speek for them.
but as for the the mud bug if you get them you will be very happy with them.
there a little rough on the pavement but on anything else there great.
the gators are very much the same and will outlast the mudbugs.

thx for you respnce mudblaster. If you had to buy a tire again would you buy the gators again? For mainly trail ,some mud, some pavement, and hill climbing? or would you choose another tire?

the gators are well worth it.
if you get them you will be happy.
i was very happy with mine.
but the mud bugs are about 6 to 8lbs a tire lighter then the gators.
to some quads that means a big loss in power.
the one thing i realy liked about the gators is i never had a flat or had them loose air.
they never leeked once.
the gators were one tuff tire and i would have bought them again if i had not got these zillas.
now im sold on these babys.
nice ride and performe like a champ on any terrane.
im going to stick with the zillas untill i find somthing better then i will probly make another change.
good luck with your choice.
eather way you will be happy.

I had Gators on my 300 4x4 and they were completely awesome in every way. Excellent mud tires, tough, handled well, price was good, etc. Gators are perfect.
