When it comes to servicability and durability,is the 454 a good bike compared to others in it's class?

 

I have 2 of them, 2X and the 4x. I have had nothing but great luck with them. Servicing is as easy as any others. But If you are looking at a 454 you are looking at 96 to 98 model and there are some items that were not available in those years that are available now. Also A/C was very new and did do some learning over the years as fare as comfort. IE: Better fuel tank shut off, being able to switch from 2 to 4 WD, little more comfort in the seat, better headlights. So you definitely cannot put it against the new models for comparison but in its day I feel they were great units.

What year and model are you looking at?

 

I have nothing bad to say about my 1997 454. It has been an excellent atv. Maintenance is easy and it is excellent mechanically. I would buy another older one without question and a newer (99+) ACT model even faster. As tricat said, the newer models have features unavailable on the older 454 Bear Cats. Good luck.
