Anybody know of a good review on this online - or a shootout with other machines in the 500 class? I'm looking for one on the 2003 model. Thanks.

 

I'm not sure where you could find a review on line, but when you find one take what you read with a grain of salt. Every review I have read recently leans heavily on the sportyness of 4x4 atv's which is not why i bought mine, and this is the main reason the AC500i and AC400i does not win top honors. They usually do some acceloration tests, fast paced trail riding with some jumping and sliding. From the factory the AC's suspension is set at it's softest setting for a good ride which makes it feel tippy when doing the fast paced trail riding and most testers don't like it for that reason (they should adjust the suspension before testing) as well as the usual comment that they are low on power, but ask anyone with an AC and they will tell you that the power really picks up when the machine is well broken in with around 200-300 miles.

My advise would be to test ride the machines you are interested in and go from there. I love my AC 400i and would buy another one if I had to make the choice all over again.
