If you haven't changed the Ducati ignition system to the updated Kokusan ignition kit that's probably the reason why. Just google Sportsman 700 ignition problems and you'll find a lot of info. The crappy Ducati stator can affect ignition and charging. Here's a good video on the #2202602 kit.Kit is around $500 at Partzilla,Cycle Parts Warehouse,etc.
