I've ran searches and talked to some people in the chat here on the connection and havent found a single person that has a Pro-X 310 kit on their 85-86R. It makes me wonder, why not? I've spoken with 344pv about his bike, but i fear it isnt comparable to his bike at all. My goal is to run decent at the drags and hill with a stock swing arm and I think a 350 is just too much for a stock length arm. Does anyone have any experience here with a 85-86R with a 310 kit? how did it pull compared to stock or ported 250 cylinder? who ported it and what mods did it have? Your info is greatly appreciated.

I dont have a 310 kit (keep getting outbid by snipers) but I can speak for a GOOD port n polish job on a stock 250R. A GOOD top end port for drag racing n such, is way to much for a stock swingarm. You will need to go at least a +4 for a good port n polish. So before you dish out the money for a 310 kit, look into a port n polish from a good person. I know of one that can port a stock bore R that will hang with everyone but the all out dragsters.. I can give you his name and email if you pm me.

I have a lot of trouble with my stock arm on my 86 in the sand. Buddy of mine has one that he did for a guy and the guy never picked it up so i might buy that but i dont know how much longer it is. I want a +2 BTW. only basis i have for my R is running R's with similiar bolt ons and no porting - usually a good 4-6 bike lengths and im still pulling away, at the hill.
i want the 310 so i can get used to tuning it and how the bike is going to react to the torque. isnt ESR's bolt on 330 just a bored 310? i already have a good price on a 310 from CT. i wouldnt mind a 350PV some day, but I dont have the kind of money to be dropping on that and suspension mods as of yet.

Hey Guys , Here's your lucky Day ...I've created a steering stabilizer for the 85-86 ATC 250r. This baby works "awesome". In fact it downright eliminates the high speed wobble in the whoops , need I go on about the "fatigue" factor on hard rides. If you are interested in some pic's . I've got 5 home designed , shop produced units to part with.....
