Does anybody know if the engine from an 85 honda 250r ATC fit in any of the Fourtrax frames? There are also conversion kits that I heard people talking about anyone with info please help...

 

85-89 250r engines all mount exactly the same. They all will bolt up perfectly in 86-89 TRX250R frames.

Like retro said it will fit any TRX250r frame. Do not waste your money by trying to convret your trike. I think the company that made the conv. kit stopped making them anyway. I live near you, let me know if you are getting rid of the frame, I would be interested in buying it.

 

I am not shure but i think some onels said that the 87-86 had a mount to the swing-arm axle and the 88-89 had it mounted up above. I am not shure just trying to make so you dont get a frame and it wount fit . I am shure other people on here know better.

 

Ok,I read the traders all the time,I saw where a guy took an '88 250R fourtrax motor and put it in his '86 ATC frame. HAVE FUN!

 

The 86/87 was EXACTLY the same mounting as the trike. The 88/89 (aluminum swingarm) had a different mount on the rear but the engine case was the same, just the mounting bracket was different.

 

Man, why even bother??? As rare as they are getting nowadays, why don't you sell it to someone that wants one for what it is and go find a trx250r? It's your bike, but it's a lot more trouble than it's worth IMO.
