I have a couple of quick questions. I picked up a 1980 Honda ATC110 recently and wanted to do some routine maintenance. I went to change the oil and found 2 drain plugs under the machine (at least they both appeared to be drain plugs). I found the plug for the crankcase but what is the other plug for?

I assumed it was for the transmission, but behind the plug was another plug that needed to be removed with a phillips head screwdriver. Behind that was a couple of springs and no oil.

What did I remove and what could I have done wrong if I just put everything back the way I found it?

If this second plug is not the transmission drain, is there one and how do you change the oil in the tranny?

The best thing to do is get a Clymer manual. They are about $25-$30 and are very usefull. Usually the transmission and crank case use the same oil.
