Default Life of a 2-stroke, long or short?

Aight, i think i've decided, I'm GETTING a 250r this winter. I don't care what my brother-in-law says about it. And the year i think either a 1985 or 86 will do nicely. What mods should i do once i get it that are cheap and give it a lot of horsepower? Thanks compaqKoci for your feedback, now i know what i want so i can tell my dad what to start lookin for. AH this is gonna be kick as$!

well if you want to make it faster a little you can change the rear sprocket to a couple sizes smaller this will nock a little off of accleration, barley can notice with the hp on the 250r motor though i got a 38 tooth in back usually they are 44-46 tooth stock thats about 30-40 dollar mod,a good muffler will kick the hp up too and a good K&N air filter

oww and also if you are a little worried about fixin which may be the case get air cooled even simplier to fix less stuff to break lol thats a good thing cause if ya roll it of ride through thick dust and weeds gets caught in radiator i like air cooled better though anyway your gonna be haulin A$$ anyway thats all the cooling it needs

Hmm, i've always heard that with a really good cooling system that a 2-stroke will last a lot longer than an air cooled.
