I'm running Sand Skate II's,20 x 11 x10 on .160 ITP's. I'm also running a 14/38 gear setup. I really like the way the Sand Skates turn and still shoot a roost. I might switch to haulers when I have my motor work done though. I will want the positive hookup of the haulers. With my stock motor the haulers dont want to turn very well.Good luck ! I hope this helps. Happy roostin!! Maybe see you at Glamis for Thanksgiving.Halloween was a blast!! Lots of people and no injuries!

Hello sand I'm just curious how your R hangs with the bigger displacement quads on the dunes? I have a 85 250r ATC and Im haveing some work done this winter before I make a trip to ST. Anthony's. I'm going with numerous upgrades and I'm hopeing to at least keep up with everyone, since I've never been on dunes before its all a mystery? Thanks

Well I'm still debating on the paddles but:
Maybe an ESR 310 Bolt on Head kit if not:
Bored .80 over (wiseco piston and hot crank)
Ported and polished/ shave the head
Delta V Force power reeds
+ 4 swingarm
ATC5 ESR Pipe/ESR Billet Exhaust Flange and the ESR O-ringed silencer
All new Black plastic (no more power but pleasing to the eye)
15 tooth speed sprocket ( I'm debating on the low end power loss?)
Airbox Eliminator with a Uni Filter
Thanks I dont know what else if you have any suggestions fire away

i hope you arent debating on whether to get paddles at all.
with either of those kits/setup, you will be able to hang with most of the people and beat your fair share. i would bring my stock 13 tooth front sproket if i were you. this weekend im going to run a 12 front with the stock 39 rear with my paddles, but im not pressing that kind of torque.

No just the kind of paddles to use which I have no idea (i.e number of paddles, brand, and size?)
Benny's Power Toy's here in Butte MT. is going to do the head work he does all of the local crazy fast
snowmobiles in the area so I think he might do a good job. Explain the gear ratio that you talk about
if you would? I'm to new at this.
Thanks

i mentioned bringing your 13 because a 15 is pretty drastic. im not familiar with EXACTLY how your engine (with those mods) will pull but to pull that kind of gearing its going to take plenty more than stock while turning paddles. i run 20x11x10 paddles on stock gearing, and it gets cooking pretty good 6th gear, but doesnt necessarly pull it that quick. the reason im switching to a 12 is to gain back some of my bottom end, which was lost when i went to a taller tire than stock.
look into a 8 inch or 10 inch rim wrapped in a hauler. i dont recommend molded paddles such as my sand sharks if you plan on pinching all the performance you can out of your machine. they are heavy, and arent as aggressive as a hauler straight paddle.
