this might be a good time to just go up to an 86 swing arm and rear assembly. this would help with the vast array of 86 trike and 86-87 quad stuff still around.

 

I wish i'd have remembered that 85 n 86 were different carriers. I'll probly have a hard time gettin rid of my swingarm i got now. i only paid like 45$ for it, plus there werent any other i could find at the time. Are the 85 n 86 swingarms the same length? Cuz i know the one i have is longer then a 87trx's is.

 

yes they are the same length. i have two 86's (one on my bike the other broke) and an 85 swing arm in my garage right now. the only thing i can see that is different about the arms themselves is some of the welding and the rear brake caliper stay.

 

Hmm, thats good there the same length. Maybe i'll have to nose around and try to find an 86 swingarm if i cant find a carrier for the 85 one i have. Oh i had another querstion i forgot to ask. If u know, i know the bearings for 85 86 250r n 350x are the same, n i know a 350x axle wont work, but would a 86 87 trx axle fit in 85 carrier?
