Went swimming today with my 86 Big Red
#1
I just got my first 3-wheeler and I'm hooked, it's a mint condition 1986 250es Big Red, anyway on my
initial test ride I came across a stream that I thougt was only a few inches deep , well it was more like
3 feet deep and the front end of the bike went under, the motor did'nt get it too bad, in fact I hooked my Jeep to the bike to pull it out, and the bike fired right up and helped itself out in reverse with a
little help from the Jeep. Anyway I got it home and tried it out, runs fine , no water in the motor,
my question is How Do I Check The Tranny Fluid on this thing???
Also any advise on other areas I should check out to make sure my bike is O.K.????
Help and advice is greatly appreciated.

The engine oil is also the transmission oil. If there is water in the oil it will look white. You should probably change the oil anyway just in case. The only other oil in the machine is the rear end oil. There is cap on the rear end that is used to check and add gear oil. Make sure the bike is on level ground and remove the cap. The gear oil should be about level with the bottom side of the hole. The rear end probably takes 80 or 90 weight. (check a manual)
Something else to check is the air box and filter. Make sure that there is not any water in the air box.
Other than that, just wash everything down and enjoy the bike.

Thanks I'm happy the bike is well built. I want to get some more 3-wheelers they are a a bargain and cheap enough for me to collect a few to ride and enjoy.
So now I think I want a 250R any suggestions what to look for?
