Default Plug wire for 185S

Can you use a regular automotive plug wire on an atc. That I found out is one of my problems not getting hardly any continuity through the end that goes on the plug. A local guy said no problem as long as I use 8MM. Will have to modify since most automotive uses carbon. Thanks for any help.

I have never heard of anyone that used automotive wire before, if you use it, let me know how it works.

What i have always done is buy a roll of plugwire from the local lawnmower shop. It's cheap and works well. It's sold in 6mm and 7mm diameters, but I haven't had any problems.

One thing you need to check first though is if you have the coil that has the plugwire made to it. Some have this and some just screw out of the coil like the plug cap. Honda used both types on everything I think because I have found both types on the same ATCs...even when working on the same year model.

As I stated on another recent post, I've tried different wire too and it works but not very good. You can buy Honda resistor wire separately from other models, like 70's Honda 750's.
