wow now that is an intresting concept,,, take the post ban trikes and replastic and serial number them and sell them as 87's everywhere there not banned ..... hmmmmm, well it didn't happen sorry,,,, even if they sold as few as 1000 all over the world you would think ONE would have surfaced in 17 years ,,,,

HMMMM,,, merely a comment, how much research have you done on 87's? there are 15 people that i know including me that have done years of research on the elusive 87's.... right down to emailing retired honda personel trying to get some concrete evidence,, we have translated japanese websites with atc's on them looking for information also,,, we have found part numbers for service manuals for atc's that never existed also,,, honda actually had on its website a part number for a 1986 ATC 500R SERVICE MANUAL .. even though they never existed ,,,, so you see why i challenge everyone that says they had one,or know where there is one ,,, i merely say GET a picture,,,,, chances are its not,,,,,,

I remember someone saying that the tri-z's in england were converted to quads, maybe the 87r's were converted too as a differnt model somewhere else in the world, In mexico a trx200x was released, it looks just like a 87 atc20x converted, I seen some close up pics of them and it looks very obvious to a converted trike. But I think most of the 250r's and 350x's were cut up, lots of left over 85's and 86's were cutup. I checked parts listing for the trx200x and most of the part numbers are the same as the 86/87 200x, as that would explain the difficulty of finding new 86/87 200x parts. So, if the 87's existed they were most likely rebadged into quads.

yes you are right about the TRX200X,, have seen several pictures,,, as for the 250's and 350x's i can for sure say no on the 250's with the trx in production it would make no sense to try to adapt a front end on a 3wheeler,, i can't see a factory tearing down a 3wheeler to build a 4 wheeler out of it,, the motor serial numbers would not match up either,,,
