You could drill it, but a new pilot jet is about 5 bucks, try dennis kirk, or sudco. Even the dealer shouldnt be too expensive on this part.

No dont try drilling it. You would have to be extremely acurate. JMO. Like honda buster said you could get new jets for 4 bucks each.

I live in Ont. and found this cold start kit. It was quite the challenge. I did a mass email to as many Honda dealers as I could, like 20-25 all over North America. Majority were ," sorry, discontinued", BUT I did find two places for it...Quite pricey, by time I had it shipped it was over $100...Still haven't installed it yet... Here's some info off the service bulletin:

Part# 06161-HAO-305 ATC 250es/sx
06161-HA8-305 TRX

"IF serial # < 072054 could require updated CDI with rev limiter(3400-HAO-010)"
"Punch mark on serial# when installed"
" Engine cranking RPM will be significantly increased by using 5W30 oil during cold weather and by installing an 'engine heater' which will soon be available"(Anyone ever see one?)

it consists of a new starter jet, and vent tubes which tie into each other. Looks like a fairly simple job, just too dam cold to be out in the barn...Mine shipped with about an inch of dust on the bag. Got it from a great place in Peterborough, Ont. They only found one. Another dealer has one though - I've got the info at work, give me a day or 2 and I'll pm you the info of you want it. Got an85 250ES and need a heater on the carb to get it to start...hope this works.
