Default 250r restoration

I have a 1984 ATC250r that is in terrible shape. I am about to pull it in the back of the shop and start taking it apart. Well being an air-cooled version i am having a hard time finding performance parts for it. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

OK i bought this 250r for 50 bucks from a kid. Its all there but alot of it is junk. I am going to need some different forks, (the look to be bent slightly). and a new jug/head. and a front brake system for sure. i was thinking about tryin to adapt a set of dirt bike forks and brake system to but I dont know if that would be a good idea or not. If it is, then what type of bike do i look for? maybe an older honda CR? Thanks for any help that you can provide me with.

OH.....you said proformance parts....thought you ment pipes, reeds, ect. Most of the stuff you are looking for are found pretty cheap on e-bay, or if you become a member here you can post in the swap forum. Not sure about using bike shocks...I know one guy on here put bike shocks on his 185 I think.

I will also be needing performance parts like a pipe, reeds, carb, etc. where is a good place to locate those items. I can find everything for a 85 model up but my old air-cooled version seems to be the underdog of the bunch.
