Default Is 200X Intake Different than 200S

I was wondering if the intakes were different between the two. I rebuilt a 200X carb fired it up and wasn't runnin right, then sprayed starting fluid down by the intake and it seemed to clean up. I installed the new oring and the intake surface looks good. Thanks for any help.

Clarify your question a bit more.

Did you put a 200x carb on a 200s engine? The x intake is angled a bit different than the s if I remember correctly. This will cause the airbox and carb to be out of alignment. Also, it seems like one combination almost puts the carb against the frame. (can't remember which though) As far as bolting up the carb to the engine, it should work just fine. You'll just have to work out the air filter problem.

Kind of sounds like your intake is dry rotted and leaking air.

Yes I am puttin a 200X carb on a 200S. Intake isn't rotted had another carb on it ran decent. It just seems like the carb isn't sealing right to the intake. Thanks for the reply

Try cleaning the mating surfaces. Don't discount a crack in the intake. It could have been working fine before but developed a crack when you were doing the swap. It may not be visible to the eye. It puts quite a bit of stress on the rubber when you are bolting and un-bolting the carb.
