Default mini 185s

I know it isn't a three wheeler but I am using a three wheeler motor on it. I am building a mini chopper and most people us 5hp briggs on them but I am going to put a 185s engine that I had for a spare. It has been bored to a 200cc and I have a web cam and I fabricated an intake to mount a carb off of an old kx 200. I think it is either a 22-24mm. I have the rear tire assembly built. I used an axle out of an old lt 230 I had laying in the weeds. The axle worked great because it is not tapered like most axle's. I mounted a golf cart 18x10x8 tire on a atc 110 wheel and mounted the hub on the axle. Then I just mounted the brake rotor and sprocket on each side. The lt 230 axle has threads and nuts on each side of it instead of just on side like most bikes. I mounted some 1 1/4 live axle go kart bearings on each side so the whole axle can turn inside of the frame. I used a atc 110 steering neck and triple tree's to make my front forks. I just unbolted the forks from the top tree and cut them off the bottom tree with a sawzall. I went and got me two 42" peices of 1 1/4 pipe and welded a nut in the end of each one and bolted it to the top tree and trued everything up and then welded the pipe to the lower tree. When I get mt 144 spoke front wheel in I am going to start making the frame. When I get a little further along I will post some pics.

Sounds like a cool project HMF.

I built a minature dirt track late model car last spring and powered it using a 185 engine. Even using aluminum for the body panels, this thing weighed just over 650 lbs with the engine installed. I was surprised at how well the engine pulled it. I did some serious gearing changes, but it all worked out in the end. I only had about $500 in the whole project and ended up having some guy who saw it in yard come by and offered a cool $1500 for it. I am no fool.

Still wish I had it at times though.

Good luck with your project and be sure to post some pics when things get functional.
