It will increase the power but you would notice alot more if you were doing it to bike with a pipe and high flow filter. The higher compression will increase engine temps a little so you may want to fatten up the main jet a little. hope this helps.

oh yeah..sorry for all the questions but, im probally getting a standard size weisco, i probally wont go oversize, but will i have to re-bore the cylinder or just get it honed and drop the piston in? the reason i wonder is cuz the engine was used for quite awhile and it still ran fairly strong but would putting a standard size back into it leave to, too much clearance? or would fresh rings like keep it good? thx again

The only real way to tell is to get the information on it. You need to find out what the wear limit is for the stock bore. Any repair manual should have this info in it. Take the measurement on your cylinder and if it is within specs. it will be ok, if not, you will have to bore it. I wouldn't bore it unless i had to though because I really haven't ever had the first set of rings last to long on a fresh bore. The second set will last a long time. I run 93 octane in every bike i ride whether it is stock or modified. When I go to the dunes I run a 50/50 mix of 110 and 93 octane. It really makes for a crisp running bike. Also, I am not knocking wiesco's but I have had better luck with pro-X pistons. The pro-x and factory pistons seem to wear instead of the cylinder. Pro-X is just cheaper than original equipment. Wiesco's seem to wear the cylinder instead of the piston because they are such a hard forged piston.

That causes pre-ignition or detonation, which ever term you prefer. It pretty much does the same thing as if you ran the engine real lean. I know it's not like you are running a 12:1 pop up but they reccomend premium on stock compression so why take the chance. Hell, I wish all I had to buy was gas. The mixing oil I run in my two-strokes cost $7 bucks a bouttle.

I have played around alot with octane alot with my 10 !/2 to 1 piston. (1200 ft, elevation) It will run just fine with reg. unleaded, but when I bump up to the 110 blue fuel I notice a huge difference in the crispness of the engine! An over-octane fuel is better on a under-octane! Under-octane fuel will cause some expencive repairs.
