I have to clean out my gas tank and am wondering if when i'm done should i add a fuel cleaner to the first full tank of gas? the old gas sat in the tank for a long time. the pecock was closed, but i'm sure some bad gas got in over time because i had my brother start it from time to time, but always closed the fuel line pecock when he was done. it still starts but when you trigger the gas it cuts out.

 

a cleaner will not hurt.....but if it still does it, you may need to pull the carb apart and clean it.
