Default 350x Carb Trouble.......Again!

Ok, my 350x was running great for a long time then it started to spit and sputter and it would want to die sometimes when i would have the clutch pulled in so i took the carb off and cleaned it out and tried to mess around w/ the idle adjustment screw on it, well i tried to turn it and the cable going to the adjustment screw was rusted inside i guess and it snapped . So now the stupid thing idles way too high and i've tried to adjust it manually by turning the screw w/ a pair of pliers but no such luck, it still idles like i have the throttle about half way. Any suggestions on how i can get it to idle normally? I'm about to just say screw it and buy a different carb since the one i have has had its fuel & air mixture screw snapped off . If i do get another one what kind do you all suggest i get? I have heard someone on here say that a 250x carb would be much better, but i'm wondering if a 400ex carb will work on it. Anyone?

I have lots of old carb parts. I can fix one up with the parts I have. PM me if interested. If you just want to fix the idle screw, maybe grind a bit off with a dremel and adjust it with the thumb throttle.
